The CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies) program serves as the primary platform for higher education cooperation in Central Europe. It contributes to the region's development by enhancing mobility, building professional networks, and fostering strategic regional relations.
The fourth phase of the CEEPUS program began on May 1, 2025. This phase is based on the agreement signed by the ministers of the participating countries in Warsaw in September 2023, ensuring the program's long-term future.
The new phase introduces exciting opportunities:
- short-term intensive courses and meetings can now be included in the network application,
- mobility for administrative staff is now available,
- participants from third countries can join, and
- the maximum duration for long-term student mobility has been extended from 10 to 12 months.
These changes were approved in the work plan adopted by the Joint Committee of Ministers in Budapest on May 15, 2025.
The Budapest meeting also marked the end of Hungary's chairmanship of CEEPUS. Hungary held this position between 2023-2025, which was handed over to Albania for the next two years.
