Eduregion project is a Seed Money Facility project funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme co-funded by the European Union that aims to develop a new initiative that will make the Danube Region more competitive by enhancing its attractiveness in the international education and research market.

This project is implemented by a consortium comprising Foundation Tempus (Serbia), Tempus Public Foundation (Hungary), National Agency for Community Programmes in the Fields of Education and Vocational Training (Romania), and the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (Romania).

During the implementation period, from September 2024 to August 2025, the consortium will:

  • Analyse current situation in Danube region countries regarding the internationalization of education and their strengths and weaknesses as destinations for international students,
  • Identify supporting mechanisms to improve the educational offer and increase regional cooperation,
  • Identify joint collaboration opportunities that would increase the value proposition for international students and researchers,
  • Explore opportunities for joint promotion of the region at the global market,
  • Create a report on brain circulation in the region and organize stakeholders consultation.

These activities should lead to the development of a future joint project with additional partners that aims to contribute to the region’s competitiveness as well as to help promote positive brain circulation mechanisms across the region, thus mitigating negative migration trends. The total budget of the SMF project is 119.999 €, out of which 95.999 € are Interreg funds.

This project is supported by the Interreg Danube Region Programme co-funded by the European Union.
